This extraordinary home was once the residence of legendary country music songwriter Floyd Parton, brother of Dolly Parton. Floyd called this special property home for more than 25 years and was the writer behind several memorable songs, including Rockin' Years, famously recorded as a duet by Dolly Parton and Ricky Van Shelton.
Born and raised in the Great Smoky Mountains, the Parton family’s connection to this area runs deep. In honor of Floyd’s life and accomplishments, Dolly and her family lovingly renovated this property, preserving meaningful details and creating a space that celebrates both creativity and family legacy.
As you explore the home, you’ll discover thoughtful touches woven throughout the experience. Look closely at the handcrafted wooden staircase where the names of Floyd’s hit songs are carved into the design—a quiet tribute to the music created here. Above the kitchen table hangs a unique wooden fixture sourced from Locust Ridge, with each jar symbolizing one of the Parton siblings and their enduring bond.

The cabin was beautiful, clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect, as we wanted to do several things in pigeon forge and Gatlinburg but didn’t want to travel off a mountain. We were only a few miles from everything but yet the cabin felt secluded and we still had some views.
We took advantage of every amenity, from the gas grill, hot tub and spacious game room, Shuffle board was our favorite.
The elevator came in handy, once we figured it out, and made it easy to transport luggage.
Our only regret was that we didn’t bring along some family and friends to enjoy this spacious cabin. We didn’t want to leave and decided we will be back!

Song Writer’s Paradise is stunning! Very roomy, well equipment. Loved relaxing in hot tub, or sitting on swing or rocking chairs. View and privacy was perfect. Loved the history of the cabin. Beds comfortable. Well chosen finishes. Easy access, close to parkway. Stay there was very peaceful.

The pictures do not do it justice! This home was beautiful and my family and I loved every moment spent here. Sitting outside and watching the beautiful mountain view and just hanging by the fire was perfect. The game room was great for kids. The decor and overall vibe was fantastic! Truly is a hidden gem. You feel alone in the mountains but yet very close to all the stores and attractions. We would stay again. Thanks for the great memories!

We came to A Song Writer’s Paradise for a few days during Spring Break…the kids 14,14,11,11 LOVED all the amenities…the game room, the hot tub and even the record player!!! The cabin was amazing…will definitely be back again!!

Privacy was the best part of the stay with fencing and gate entry. The cabin is amazing sitting on top of the hillside with tremendous views from every window in the house. With the lit stairwell of Dolly's brother's platinum songs, we felt apart of her greatness. The decor welcomes you and we didn't want to leave. We spent time around the kitchen and the rest in the gameroom competing. We suggest this home for everyone. The elevator made it easy for my 85 years old mother to view the whole cabin. Need to get away and need some solitude, this is your cabin.

We will definitely come back to a songwriters paradise again. What a great and comfortable stay! I especially loved all the porches. There are rocking chairs on the front porch, places to sit on the back porch and a lounging area on the patio outside the game room.
We gathered and laughed throughout the open kitchen dining and living areas, enjoyed light competition in the game room and made great new memories that we will cherish forever.
I would highly recommend a stay here. We will certainly be back!!

Our weekend stay at Song Writers Paradise was absolutely wonderful! This very private sanctuary made it easy to forget that we were only minutes to local restaurants and attractions. The views were spectacular in all directions from sunrise to sunset. The host provided plenty of entertainment for everyone, from the game room to relaxing by the fire with family and friends we thoroughly enjoyed this comfortable home. We were easily able to cook, entertain and relax. There are also plenty of spaces to have your own personal space to get away from the folks you are vacationing with if you need a little time to yourself. The game room was awesome. There’s a big fenced yard so it feels really private and the views are lovely. We truly had a great time.
One of the things I always look for in a vacation rental is how comfortable the beds are and these were great! Everything in the house was set up very well, the place was super clean and is decorated perfectly.
We highly recommend a stay here!
